Is the Galaxy Note international unlocked version supposed connect with WIFI in North America?

Similar to a question from Erkuden on May 8th, I also bought one from Amazon but it recognizes my home network but won't connect. It indicates "authentication failure." despite my entering the correct password. The reason I ask is becuase I came across this in the Samsung GT-N7000 manual. "Your device uses a non-harmonised frequency and is intended for use in all European countries." Also this "connect to any wireless local area network (WLAN) compatible with the IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n standards." Anyone understand this and should it work here in Canada?

its a shame that rogers/bell/telus charge so much for this phone.

Wifi is the same worldwide. It will work. I have seen problems like this caused by wireless router settings, although the exact cause is unknown. perhaps try connect to a different access point to test.

It could be the security settings. Trying changing between WEP, WPA, WPA2 and then you can go one step further by trying TKIP, AES combinations.

Thanks guys. I have now got it fixed with a call to the ISP. They put me on a different band or something and it now works.
