Is it possible to connect an ipod touch to the internet via bluetooth instead of wifi? mifi and other phone based hot spots have a very limited battery.

Apple doesn't officially support this, so short of jailbreaking your iPod touch, the answer is no.

Dave. That was exactly what I was looking for. Now I have a reason to jailbreak my ipod touch 2g. (Jailbreak looks simple enough and should retain my 3.1.3 version if I can just get my itunes (osx) to downgrade through time machine back to version 9.... )

you can use redsnow 0.9.5 and jailbreak ios version 4.0.2 with it

I tried to downgrade with timemachine-- it said library was incompatible because it was a higher version. I was avoiding 4.0.2 because of poor performance on 2g processors, not so much for jailbreaking reasons. If speed is back into ios2 on 2g, then that would be ideal, but....

At first attempt, it crashed the ipod touch and restore moved to 4.1. Then, however, greenpois0n worked great. iBluever is great! batteries work great. Speed is also good. Great alternative to iPhone. Thanks guys.
