Question about

Is it just me or does it seem the batteries last forever in this thing?

I think I replace them once a year at most and use it pretty regularly for Netflix and DVDs.

I don't mean to diminish the XBox remote, but this is kind of the experience I have with all screen-less remotes. With a full backlight, more than a year is pretty standard, and with no backlight you could get several years on a good set of AA's (or even the cheapo batteries that come with most remotes).

I do like the design of the XBox remote, though. I bought one for a project a while back that never panned out, but I keep it around hoping I'll find a use for it (I don't own an XBox :) ).

I don't think I've EVER replaced mine. Then again... I hardly use it. Maybe Microsoft has some secret proprietary energy technology they accidentally slipped in to the product that they meant to save for when Oil runs out.
