Is it better to charge your iPhone on a newer computer rather than a wall outlet?

I just recently bought a 27" iMac, and instead of charging my 4S on the wall outlet and syncing over wifi (as I was doing previously), I decided to put my iPhone dock on the desk and charge it on there overnight. Since then, I've noticed that the battery in my 4S has longer life. This has been true for about the last four days, and I am using my iPhone as much as before. Is it possible it's just better to charge on the iMac? Why would that be true?

The charging circuitry is entirely within the phone itself, the only thing that may be different is the available amps that the phone can draw to charge. It may be that the iMac only delivers 500ma or less of power to the USB ports, which would cause the iPhone to take longer to charge, which may have the benefit of allowing it to charge more fully. iPhone wall adapters typically deliver 1000ma and charge the phone more quickly. Even given the faster charge, the iPhone should charge quickly at first, and then slow down near the end.

In general, charging on your iMac will take longer. You will not get a longer lasting charge from your iMac.
