Question about
Is it better than the old for extending networks
I have a 5 zone airplay system in my home and used the ethernet to connect a tivo in the basement. With the old version if I switched the Express to extend a network the tivo transfers would slow to a crawl. Leaving it on Join a wireless network tivo transfers where fast but I would get drop outs with my outdoor speakers because my phone was out of range. Will the new one solve my problem? Thanks.
I'm not fully sure that I understand your question, but I can tell you this. The new AirPort Express has a Lan and a Wan port for ethernet, so you can therefore plug it into your home wired network and then plug the tivo in at the same time. I have 2 of the new ones working in my house and haven't noticed any major difference with AirPlay although I haven't had to mess around in the settings like I did on my old Expresses. With the dual-band, there isn't any interference, so it works much better.

I'm not sure of your question either but maybe we have the same question: Can this AEBS be used to extend an wireless network from a non-Apple router? I'm specifically interested in the Linksys AE4500. Does anyone know if the two devices are compatible?
