Is Apple about to get rid of the Magic Mouse?
Says Cult of Mac, "It makes sense that Apple would phase out the Magic Mouse, as OS X is clearly becoming a gesture based OS. A recent report predicted that iOS and OS X would merge into one operating system for both mobile and desktop in as early as 2012."
While I agree that OS X Lion's gestures are a little too much to do with a Magic Mouse, I would be remiss if it disappeared. After using it for the past year or so, it's quickly become my favorite mouse (outside of the outstanding Logitech G5: gdgt.com/logitech/g5/ ). This is especially surprising, since I agreed with much of the initial apprehension over the ergonomics of this mouse. See: gdgt.com/question/what-do-you-think-of-the-magic-m...
For those of you of the Apple persuasion, would you miss this mouse? Did the capacitive touch surface change the way you used mice?
For those who don't care about this mouse, what is your favorite mouse, and why?

Update: Cult of Mac posted an update to these rumors -- "Our source now informs us that while the Magic Mouse disappeared from inventory earlier today, it has now been resurrected with a new part number, which may imply an upgrade. I’m sure we’re not alone in saying we’re glad the rumors of the Magic Mouse’s demise have proven to be an exaggeration."

I won't put it lightly: I despise the ergonomics of the Magic Mouse. I agree that you might be able to get used to the shape, but I would ask whether it's a good idea to get used to it. It just doesn't seem very healthy to me.
My personal favorite is the Logitech Performance MX (gdgt.com/logitech/performance-mouse-mx/). I've grown accustomed to this shape of Logitech mouse, having used similar ones for the last 11-12 years. I switched to this one about five months ago and already love it. I have all the buttons mapped out exactly as I want them, the battery lasts long enough for my tastes, and I like the unifying receiver that lets me tie my keyboard to the same USB port as my mouse.
Lastly, I LOVE that it ISN'T bluetooth. I've had nothing but nightmares with bluetooth peripherals, and refuse to every use another bluetooth mouse or keyboard ever again.

I wouldn't really miss the mouse too much. I can still use my normal, free wired mouse without feeling like I'm missing out on some extra functionality.
