Question about
TABUZX2

Is anyone else more intrigued or excited by this than Android? What are your thoughts?

Within the coming months, this OS, even in it's early stages, seems like it could be a wonderful competitor with iOS and Android in the tablet market. And if Windows 8 gains steam, the likelihood is that Windows Phone 7 will gain ground as well, being a great compliment to their tablet big brothers. What are your thoughts?

Microsoft needs to work closely with their OEMs to develop a solid product that can be used both as a consumer tablet (Metro UI driven) and as a dedicated PC (standard Windows UI).

The obvious vision would be to create a powerful tablet/form-factor that can be used for web-surfing on the couch, but can then be docked at your desk to function as a normal workstation.

The convergence of both tablet and workstation would enhance the tablet market's utility.

I agree. windows 8 on a tablet would be a very useful os, more so than honeycomb or ios, and it will definitely help windows phone 7 gain some momemtum.

I would be surprised if we see Windows 8 before the end of next year. Windows phone 7 will gain ground because of their arrangement with Nokia. Microsoft was very late to the game with their MP3 player which we know they eventually canceled even though it was a good product due to slow sales. The same could happen with their tablet approach as well.

I also agree but it will depend a lot on the hardware it's delivered on.

If it's on something like the Galaxy Tab that would be a sweet tablet.

If it's on something like the HP Touch Pad I don't really see myself using it.

I am of the mindset that a tablet should be light, have a long battery life and be easy to use.

I'm looking forward to Ice Cream Sandwich. Sorry, but it's just smoother, nicer-looking, and has more apps.
