Is anyone else having problems with third-party "click-mic" headphones working with their iPhone 4?

My V-Moda Duo's won't work in a voice call, and don't control the music correctly. I posted the issue over at TiPB, and another user is having the same problem with Skull Candy headphones. His theory is that it might be an issue with the built-in noise-cancellation mic, and he has a call in to Apple Experts to check in.

Anyone else having the issue?

Yep. I have V-Moda headset and forward/rewind stopped working, play/stop works only occasionally and sometimes the volume goes all the way up for a second (which is going to make me deaf).

I'm having this problem with my apple in-ears w/ mic. It seems if im using the headset to talk with the phone in my pocket they hear my pocket more than my actual voice.

I talked to v-moda tech support about this same issue. They said that the iPhone 4 requires a special "chip" in the headphones for the controls to work, which these earphones do NOT have. I told them they should update their website advertising to reflect this, and they offered me a refund.
