(This is my first device with a micro-USB connector, so perhaps this is just how it's supposed to fit.)
The cable works when plugged in, of course. It just wiggles.
Question about
Is anyone else finding the USB cable to feel loose when plugged in to the bottom of the Nook?
It's just a problem across any micro-USB device.

As long as the port on the device itself is not wiggling, should not be an issue - the plug itself probably wiggles a bit.
