Question about
Internal Memory Not Recognized by Windows 7
Any info on this would be great because i have yet to find a solution. recently purchased this cam but Windows 7 Doesn't recognize the internal memory. Upon plugging it in.. i get a new drive for the SD slot that will read the card if inserted, but not option to browse the internal memory. I connected it in Ubuntu and it picks up the internal mem there. Just not in windows. I know i have options to remove the files without directly accessing the internal mem. but I'd just like to be able to plug and capture/copy without copying to SD or loading Linux. Any help Greatly Appreciated.
of course.. after a week of troubleshooting.. when i ask the question.. i find the answer.. This issue is fixed.. what i did was "updated" the driver to a generic 'disk drive' driver opposed to the one auto installed when i first plugged it in.. the drive is now visible in "My Computer" and I can drag and drop my vids off of the internal Mem.

Jay,
I'm having the same problem but I'm unsure how to proceed with changing the driver to a generic disk drive driver. I'm having trouble identifying which drive is created by the OS when I plug the camera in. I do not have an additional memory card in the add-on slot. I have 2TB of RAID storage on my server so I don't need the extra storage on the camcorder.
Suggestions? Much appreciated.

In my Device manager under Disk drives, There was 2 new drives called 'Canon Disk Drive' or something to that effect.. went into the properties and updated driver. When asked, i selected 'Let me find the driver' ad proceeded to find tje generic Disk Driver.. If you still have questions, feel free to reply and I'll try and do a step by step.
