Question about
dave

I've heard a few people recently mention this device is 'too heavy.

'

When I initially got my iPad, it seemed hefty (but in a solidly built sort of way). But now, I don't think I necessarily consider the device to be heavy! Hardly notice it, actually. It was the only thing I brought with me our Boston event (left the MBP at home), and it was fantastic to travel with a lighter load.

Anyway, what do you think about the weight of this device?

When I travel with it, my clothes and other posessions are usually weighing me down more than the iPad is. I'd say this is a victory for the iPad, weight-wise. It's invisible when being transported.

The only time I could see weight becoming an issue is while reading, although this hasn't bothered me. It's always either in my lap or on a surface, that is unless I'm running Star Walk. Then I'm flailing it around like a madman.

It really isn't all that heavy, until you try holding it in one hand for reading long form texts. I find myself reading a lot of books on my ipad as well as a lot of longer news articles. While it may not be too heavy to carry around, one handed reading can become a little tiring after a while.
