Question about
i've had two of these seemingly die on me on the same day. Has anybody had the same experience? My computers just wont find them...

Is there something that was updated on your computers recently? Or did the keyboards somehow get paired to another computer?
I did a quick search through the Apple Support forums and it sounds like others have had similar issues. In one thread, someone mentioned a possible solution (found here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/6452888?mess...):
"For those of you who still have a problem recognizing your BT keyboard - be sure the Discoverable check box is checked in the BT setup assistant. Mine somehow became unchecked and I could not add my Apple wireless keyboard. Once rechecked it worked as expected and everything is fine"
