Question about
AdamWillis

I've been wanting to get into photography and video for at least 2 years now but because of price, I couldn't get myself to jump in.

Ever since the 5D Mark II I've be drooling over a DSLR for a while. I've decided I want to buy the 7D* but I've heard multiple times that the sense that comes with it isn't worth the extra cash. I just want some good lens suggestions that wont cost a fortune but is versatile. I plan on getting the 50mm f/1.8 because I've heard so much good and the price is cheap but I want something that also has zoom when I need it.

*final decision.

If you aren't set on massive reach then this lens comes HIGHLY recommended. gdgt.com/tamron/af/17-50mm/f28-sp-xr-di-ii-ld-asph...
It can be had new on amazon for like 450$. Its sharp, its fast and it is a great replacement of any kit lens.

There is a VC (vibration compensation or something) but I hear the talk on the street is that its like 150-200$ more and noticeably less sharp, there for not recommended.
