Question about

I use a macbook pro with iCal (multiple calenders for work and private with notes) and Address Book (with notes, pictures, full addresses, etc) and iTunes (lots…

of podcasts). I use my ipod Touch (via iTunes) and Nokia E65 (symbion via bluetooth isync) and both sync nicely (not using podcasts on Nokia). I am tempted to get an international version of the Galaxy S instead of an iPhone 4. Also I use Skype on the Touch and a simple task and time/expense tracking aps + normal browsing (via a cumbersome and batter draining Joikuspot app). What problems/work-arounds am I likely to face in my daily syncing?

With any android phone there is no need to sync calendars/contacts since it does it through gmail. You may have to set up syncing between iCal and Google calendar and sync you contacts to gmail but both support all the features you already use. After that anytime you change a contact or add a calendar event it is automatically synced to your gmail account and vice versa.

I don't know about skype(since I don't use it) or the task and time/expense apps but I am sure you will be able to find similar apps that work just as well with the bonus they can work with one another.

And for syncing, android doesn't sync with itunes at least out of the box. There are work around but there are a lot of good podcast apps to automatically download podcasts for android, and in the coming months music can be streamed from your computer to your phone relatively painlessly as long as samsung updates the galaxy S. There is also DoubleTwist which can sync music and podcasts but I haven't used it in so long since I use a Zune HD for all my music.
