Question about

I need some advice about upgrading an old macbook with an SSD drive.

I have the original 2006 white macbook model. I wanna drop an SSD in it but I've seen some conflicting info regarding the SATA 1 vs. SATA 2 support. My macbook is SATA 1, but most of the internal drives out today are beyond that, either SATA 2 or 3. I've read in a few different places that I could get a "2" drive but it would specifically need to support the older SATA 1 for it to work at all. I checked some apple support discussions and saw some posts that seemed to say that any SATA drive would work regardless. What's the deal here?
