Question about
Dwayne

I need a laptop. A high-end, sturdy, machine that's meant to stand the test of time for 3-4 years.

Operating system (Windows/OSX) doesnt matter. I at least 4hrs battery life

I'd like USB 3.0 (I mean... it's 2010)

I'd like an eSata port

I don't need firewire 800

HDMI would be nice, but is not a deal breaker

Nvidia optimus or some other graphic card auto-switching (or manual switching) technology is preferred

durable build quality without being too too bulky.

Core i5 or core i7(dual, not quad core) chips should be the base platform here.

it must be able to handle up to 8gb ddr3 ram.

Any suggestions?

The Unibody macs are built like a rock, although you will need to pay Apple extra cash to replace the battery within a 4 year lifespan.

No eSata, though I'm kind of curious why you really need it.
