What application do you want to use for your mail? You could get Office 2011 for Mac which will support migrating all your mail (www.macworld.com/article/155727/2010/11/outlook201...) However, this is not free.

If you want to use the built in Mail.app there are a couple of options (none of which I have tried.) This one uses the Eudora to import and clean things up. (kb.wisc.edu/helpdesk/page.php?id=3059) This page was just updated last month so it doesn't look like a dead option.

Maybe a 2 step approach of going from Outlook to Gmail (tools.google.com/dlpage/outlookmigration) then use Mail.app with iMAP to access the mail.

There are also other options than Mail.app on your MBP. (mac.appstorm.net/roundups/communication-roundup/8-...).

Don't forget that this might be a good chance to declare Mail Bankruptcy and just remove all the old stuff. :-)

This is not a free option, but not expensive. I have used outlook 2 mac (www.littlemachines.com) in the past with good success. It requires you to run it on the windows computer that has your outlook files. As far as I recall it is a plugin for outlook, so it also requires a working copy of outlook on that computer.

After running, it will output mbox files with your email, ics files with your calendars, and vcf files with your contacts. These files can then be imported into mail, calendar, and address book.

A variation on Turbomac's gmail approach is using a hotmail account and the Outlook Hotmail Connector ( blogs.office.com/b/microsoft-outlook/archive/2010/... ). This may have an advantage in that it is supported by Microsoft.

Move all your mail to hotmail, and then configure Mail.app to access hotmail as well.
