Question about

I'm getting scratches on the front of this way too easily.

When it's in my pocket I never have anything else in it, and I've kept it carefully all of two weeks that I've had it. My iPod touch that I previously had didn't get a single scratch for a year without a screen protector, and even that was minor. Anyone else getting this?

So you'd recommend a screen protector for the new iPhone...?

Could it possibly be the oleo-phobic coating that is getting the scratches, thus giving the illusion that the screen is scratched. I had a 3G, and I never got a scratch on the front... But my friend's 3GS did within the first week. He doesn't take as good of care with things, but still.
I currently have a screen protector on my iPhone 4... It just makes me nervous not having one now. haha

So happy with Apple today, they replaced my iPhone! The guys at the genius bar kept took a while though, supposedly "researching it" before they finally decided to give it to me. They told me it was a "major exception" - obviously because it isn't covered by warranty. I was very lucky. I'll be sure to get a screen protector ASAP now and plan on buying an Incase Slider this week when they introduce them. :)

Engadget had an article about the phone getting scratches already as well so I don't think you're alone in this.

I'm not having this issue. I would take it into the store. They'll probably swap it out. Though it might be tough for a couple months till there is more stock available.

Yes, I definitely found that it scratches much more easily than the 3G and 3GS.

put it in a case. Anyone that doesn't case a phone of this value is nuts. I bought a Belkin Verve case; it's great. Also looking into a Nude Skin here:
