Question about
Montecore

I'm considering buying a Nexus S but the comments left at bestbuy.com has me scared. Many of them say the short battery life is a big problem.

One person said it doesn't even last 8 hours even in standby mode the whole time. So my question is, what kind of battery life are you guys getting with your Nexus S?

I have the Nexus S, and it's generally been pretty good, though have had days where it's not lasted me all a day. I'd say it's about average in terms of an Android phone.

Had mine for a week now, and despite the fact that I'm playing with it more than I normally would, I've been pleasantly surprised by the battery. Huge improvement over my Nexus One, and has usually got me through the whole day.

Haven't had it for a week yet, but I haven't had any problems so far. On the contrary I've actually been surprised a couple of times. My use of it isn't too demanding (±12h, 3g all the time, almost an hour of wifi on {didn't use it the whole time though} and a couple a calls {10 min} most of the day standby)
then again, I'll have a better idea later

Still waiting for mine to ship, I am also interested though. Seeming that mine is already purchased, I am curious to see what kind of an issue the battery is, I don't use my 'MyTouch 3g' at the moment too heavily while on the road, mainly because it's so slow, so hopefully the N S handles pretty well, but yeah, I heard mixed things.

Looking at the user reviews for the Nexus S, they've seem to be better than average, rated at a 4. gdgt.com/samsung/nexus-s/reviews/#users

In the Engadget review, they also had a positive experience with the battery, were able to make it through the day, 20 hours with heavy use. You might want to check the review links as well: gdgt.com/samsung/nexus-s/reviews/#sites

I've had mine since December 30 and I easily get all day. After 12 hours or so of average use, I usually have 30-40% charge remaining. I've even had it make it through the night without charging (if only just). Tons better than my iPhone.

The biggest issue is that it's a Samsung, and may not ever be upgraded to the latest OS version.

The best life I've had from an Android. Yesterday I was filming, taking pics and listening to music and in 7½ hours only used 34% of the battery...

My battery life is pretty bad... It seems like I go from fully charged to 50% in an hour or so, and that's with everything on that power bar turned off. I also deleted a lot of apps which were constantly running in the background - to no avail. I think I might take it to best buy or something...
