Question about

I just saw that the G2 had the update that included tethering pushed out today. Does anyone know how this works with T-mobiles tethering plan?

I know that the obvious answer is that you can't turn it on untill you have the plan but I don't have the plan but I can turn tethering on. According to my account the tethering plan has not been activated. Any ideas?

T-Mobile planned on charging $15/mo for it back in October, but they never instituted the policy. For now, it's "don't ask, don't tell" and I doubt that they're thinking about it right now with all of the merger stuff going on. Enjoy your free tethering, but don't abuse it, or they'll throttle you back until the end of your billing cycle.

It works great! I tried it out, I'm unsure about charges right now. But I'll be looking at my next bill.

I've been wondering the same thing. I don't want to try it out until I know if I'm gonna be charged or not.

Been using it sparingly for over a month now. a tethering plan is not required it seems but you may be flagged if you use too much data.
