I have the Sprint Hero, and under Mail Settings > Send & Receive > Mail Size Limit, you get the option to select "No limit." It is listed after 1 MB. Do you not see this option?

You may also want to check the version of the Android OS you are running. 2.1 was released recently, and I'm not sure the devices are coming out of the box with it installed. It could be that this feature was added with the OS update, so you may have to upgrade to 2.1 to get this option.

Lastly, look at the mail settings for your email provider. They may have a cap on the size of the attachments you can send. I use a gmail account and an account through my work. The gmail account has a pretty generous cap for emails, but my work account only lets me send attachments up to 500k. So I never use the work account when sending emails with large attachments.

Hope that helps.
