Question about
i just got an iphone first gen from somebody on craigslist and i already have a sim card and i want to just take it from my phone and put it in the iphone but…
when i do that and plug up the iphone. it asks me for billing information. i think that this might be something to just varify that the sim card wasnt stolen and tryin to be put in a different phone. but it also might be another activation and cost me something or just put a bunch of fees and charges on my bill. will that actually happen or is it just a security thing? if it will cost anything. what might it cost?
The significant thing about switching from any other phone that is not an iphone (at least with AT&T) is that the phone company wants to set you up on a different type of account. If you have never had an iphone before, and even if you have had smart phones, their data and general plans are wholly separate for the iphone. They have specific information that they need regarding this transfer and yes it will change how your billing and other services are structured. In order to use the phone (in most cases) you are required to contact the phone company. Ultimately contact the phone company to make sure you are on the correct data plan and that you are accounting for the change in phone.
