The Qualcomm MSM8260 is based on chipsets released in the end of 2011. The real question traditionally isn't the GPU but a matter of can the software take advantage of it. With 1GB RAM, the Qualcomm MSM8260 processor is more the sufficient imho.

That processor (Qualcomm MSM8260) is the same used in HTC's sensation, amaze 4G and T-Mobile myTouch 4G slide. Those phones were launched in mid-2011. The MSM8260 is not the newest processor but is not outdated.

I have bought an xperia S (dual core) for myself while my brother picked up an htc one X (quad core). To be frank, the only noticeable difference between the processors are the high end games other than that they all work at the same pace without any lag.....
