Question about

I have the iPad and use it constantly through out the day. It has replaced my old netbook and I use more as a PDA than I do my phone any more.

When 1st got it I think I was like most other people and thought of it as a toy but now because of some of the grate productivity apps and the size of the screen I do use it for more than just games.

I keep wondering what apple will introduce that will make me want to upgrade. What new feature hardware wise of software wise will they release next year that will make me upgrade?

1. Front facing camera?
2. Rear facing camera?
3. Better battery life?
4. Thinner and lighter?
5. NFC support?
6. Better display?
7. More RAM?
8. Better Processor?

So, my question is what feature hardware or software wise would they have to add for you to either upgrade to the new model or finally buy an iPad?

Personally I am pretty sure that they will add RAM and up the processor. I think it’s likely that it will be lighter and thinner and that it will have a front facing camera since they are pushing the face time as a main feature to the iphone and ipod touch.

I would need for it to have at least a front facing camera, a new retina display (I'm so spoiled with my iPhone 4!), as well as an increase in speed (processor and RAM) would always help. It's mainly the lack of functionality hardware-wise in the current generation that is stopping me from buying one!

I'm waiting until we get the next announcement, it should be soon I hope! *fingers crossed*

I currently own an iPad, and have been very happy with it. I would say that a RAM upgrade would definitely be in the offing for the next version, if only to give it parity with the iPhone. Battery life is more than adequate for a couple of days before you need to do a full recharge, so not much to change there, unless they have a configuration that reduces the weight slightly. To be honest, I've not have any problem with the weight of the iPad, but some people seem to have problems holding onto it. *shrug*

I daresay they will put in a front-facing camera for Facetime, but given its size I think it will be tough to use the iPad as general-purpose camera.

I hear people clamouring for the Retina display, but producing an iPad-size one will be prohibitively expensive, and I doubt it will do much to improve readability.

As for NFC, I think that will appear in the next iPhone first.
