I have the galaxy nexus! Any questions?

Just picked mine up today in the UK, if you have any questions about the phone sound off here and I'll do my best to answer :).

What are your first thoughts of the People App? I heard that there is greater integration with that and Dialer. Also, regarding dialer, how does that interface feel?

I really like the people app, I'm not 100% convinced with the light blue colour, it seems to clash with the darker motif's around the rest of the OS.

But functionally its pretty great, Its basically a reskinned contacts app, but with easy access to your groups on google contacts, and google+ (more services I assume via api).

The main list of contacts is very customizable now, you can set it to show all contacts, or only from one source, or only from certain groups.

The new favorites menu is very pretty, especially when you have high resolution contact images. And being able to see the latest updates from various social services right from the contact pages is really convienent. (via api, so i can see Last.fm /Twitter/Google Plus/Google Talk status)

The dialar is again fundamentally the same interface but reskinned. It is much more attractive than the previous dialer, and has a nice consolidated contacts tab with your favorites at the top. (People and Phone are now two seperate apps).

Ill post some screenshots here in a few minutes, but I'll probably have to do some heavy censorship :).

From some reviews I have read that the Gmail app still doesn't have pinch to zoom. However, i heard that the Email app does have pinch to zoom ironically. Can you confirm this?

Owners perspective on the whole pentile thing please? I know it depends on what you upgrading from but is it noticeable? Is fine text noticeably crisper? Zoomed out web pages legible?

How about that HD resolution - does it translate to more information on screen, i.e. emails in gmail, list items in menus etc?

I cannot see any side effects of the pentile on the screen at all (however I couldn't really notice it on my Nexus One unless i really looked for it). The text on the screen is very crisp, And for example if I go to the New York Times desktop website fully zoomed out I can read the article summary text (although i have to look close they are still pretty small!).

Compared to my Nexus one you can actually see one less email in gmail on the Galaxy Nexus due to the addition of the action bars, and 2 line previews in the ICS gmail app. (if the apps were the same on both phones you would see less emails on the nexus one)

Its actually the same apk that works on gingerbread and honeycomb, just the holo theme combined with the action bar and the font make it look really good :)

Thanks, nice thread the details are much appreciated. Just wish the resolution meant more on screen the same way it does on a standard monitor :-(

@Geekster The increased resolution totally does result in more information on screen at once! It is just slightly masked by the fact that gmail has been changed to add more information for each email, and the fact that the soft keys take up a little bit of that vertical screen space.

But as you can see in my Google Reader comparison even with the soft keys you are getting more entries on screen with the 720p display :).

Just getting used to be away from Iphone with the Galaxy Nexus... I'm enjoying the phone so far.. one thing is driving me nuts... HOW do you log out of facebook Ive tried everything.. people keep saying go to the settings menu but there isn't a setting s icon within the app and the bottom soft buttons on the Galaxy Nexus don't include a settings button like previous models

The phone in general. On like the Nexus S on the lock screen is you did the swipe from right to left that would switch silent on and off. So how do you do it now in ICS?

The quickest way is to hold down the power button from the lockscreen and select silent mode. i.imgur.com/AljLL.png

Otherwise if the phone is unlocked (and not playing media, you can hold down the volume down button to go to vibrate and then silent modes).

I'm excited about the music controls in the lockscreen/ notification bar, is there a way we can see that? I definitely would use google music more on my droid 3 if i didn't have to unlock it everytime...
