I have bought a new HTC G1 mobile, however i am not able to download any third party software and the worst of all i dont have access to facebook?

The G1 is a nearly 4 year old phone. It doesn't have the power to run many apps. You may have success by rooting the phone and installing a custom Android 2.2 or 2.3 ROM. The G1 only supports Android 1.6 officially. In essence Google has decided the phone was too old and stopped supporting it.

It appears that the most popular ROM, CyanogenMod, supports up to version 6 which is based on the Open Source (AOSP) version of Android 2.2. I have this on my G1 and it works alright but is slow in comparison to my newer devices.

i actually dont want to install anything into the phone, is there any simpler way for me to have access to facebook without buying an application. moreover, when i use the google search application it get the error message "sorry! the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. force close" In a google phone, the search option is not working. i dont where to get the settings to make this option work.

I don't believe there is a simpler way. The G1 is discontinued and is no longer supported by HTC or Google. The community supported it longer, but has largely stopped due to people getting new phones.

All the stuff I linked to is free with no applications to buy. You just have to get your hands dirty. There is not much to be done with an Android device as old as the G1, (which being the first Android phone is the oldest).

For your force closes I'd recommend a factory reset, some bit of downloaded software has caused your phone to become unstable.

Thanks but i know how to reset the HTC G1 mobile. However i browsed the internet more to check for help. finally without changing anything in my mobile, i was able to install a third party software, finally i am able to lgin to facebook...
