i have an apple ipod nano third-gen, when ever i put a movie on it the picture quality is good but the sound doesn't work what can i do

Consider converting the movie through Handbreak first (using the iPod Profile), then transferring it from your computer to your iPod via itunes. Hopefully that will work for you.

Are you transferring the movie via iTunes? That never works for me. You can try podworks to transfer the videos. There are plenty of tutorials on how to do it.
