i have an acer. it keeps turning itself off, possibly die to overheating. does anyone know how i can fix this?

I'd recommend getting a can of the compressed air and try to blow out any dust inside the laptop, check the vents especially. You should also try to raise the laptop off the surface so that more air can circulate underneath.
