To summarise the answers given, I think -

To listen to music via iTunes - You need either an Apple TV (Connected to your TV or amp) or Airport Extreme (connected to an audio source/amp)

To watch video via iTunes - You need an Apple TV.

Hopefully that helps,

I don't think so. But what do you mean exactly?
If you had an Apple TV or an Airport Express you could.

To what sort of device? Your television?

I mean, I can stream both audio and video to my television via Apple TV from my MacBook Pro (through the AirPort Extreme). Not sure I entirely understand your question though.

I have a PC, an airport extreme, an iPhone 4 and an airport express with audio out connected to a simple shelf stereo system feeding my house speakers (multi room). I routinely use my iPhone 4 to stream Pandora or my iTunes playlists to the express using airplay. I also control my iTunes with the Remote app for iPhone to play music via Airplay to the house speakers. Works nicely and was easy to set up and the extreme is the router handling all this. It is simple to setup and solved a number of connection problems I had with a previous router.
