Question about
timchoi89

I got my Zune HD a week ago and I love it! I'm close to converting my friend into getting one but there are several big problems with the software.

For some odd reason my Zune Social IS NOT updating. It still says that I've had 0 plays even though I've played at least 100 songs already. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling several times already and I even tried Unzoone but nothing worked to fix it. Also, the software says there's 1 item in my cart even though there's nothing in it (I checked my zune also). Lastly, the software crashes constantly while my other friends that use Zune Software are running the software fine.

I know that it takes time for the songs played to be updated on the Social but it's been a week now and I'm starting to get really annoyed.

If it makes a difference my laptop is running Win 7 Ultimate 64bit (yes, I'm running 64bit Zune software) with 4GB of RAM and it has the Nvidia GeForce 8400MG video card.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've found that reinstalling the software isnt going to be enough to fix odd questions with the Zune software. MS has released a tool to reset Zune for you. You can find it here.
www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=...

Also... make sure you have the Zune "linked" to your Zune profile. It should have done that automatically, but with the uninstalls its likely it isnt anymore. To do this click on settings, device, linking then the button that says link this Zune to my account. Give that a try. :-)

I have noticed with the Zune Social myself that it does not want to automatically login even though I have set it up to... but once I click the user name and login it updates the play counts and stuff -- my guess is it is not logging in like it is suppose to -- I would give that a try --

I also use Zune x64 on Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Hope that helps

Thanks for all the replies! Last night I created a dummy zune social account to see if it's my s/n. Lo and behold! It works right away but my original (and preffered) s/n still is not working. All my privacy settings for my preffered s/n is all set to public. I don't really know what the deal is now. At least, I know it's not the software that's screwed up.

On the crashing issue though, I'll definitely try SillyMo's suggestion. Thanks!
