Question about

I got an HD7 on release day and was super excited about it.

I recent bought a new Prius and my old Android wouldn't sync contacts with the Bluetooth and was poor at playing music. The HD7 does a great job at this, but for some reason when I use the USB port that is builtin to the Prius to charge the HD7 it begins charging for about a minute and then stops. Any idea what might cause this? It works fine if I use a power adapter.

Maybe the USB port for the HD7 does not serve enough power to the phone so its not able to charge properly? I'm not too sure off hand how much power the default charger pulls, but that may be something to look at.

I had an HTC Pure that did the same thing, but only in Ford Expedition in the 2nd power adaptor in the arm rest. Moving it to the front power adaptor under the dash fixed the problem. The USB port in the Prius may not be supplying the HD7 enough power to charge. This still doesn't answer why the phone will charge for a minute or so until it stops charging.

You may find that the Prius cannot identify the HD7 so it is cutting off the charge to avoid damage. Are you playing music over USB? cause if you aren't, you could buy (or make) a USB charge-only cable! (only power is carried to device, no data)

You might be able to make a charge-only cable, by taping over (IIRC) the inner two contacts in a USB extension cable.
