I got an Archos 5 - Any questions?
Will say right off the bat that there are some things I love: the screen is bright and high-res, and the device is thinner than I thought it would be.
Things I don't like: resistive display makes it harder to use than it should be. Found myself wishing that they'd included a stylus.
Anyway, ask away!

To me there is no question that having a 2x larger screen and 2.5x more screen resolution by far outweights 3.5" capacitative 480x320 screens.
If there were other devices with 4.8" capacitative 800x480 screens, then your resistive talk would be a valid complaint, but since capacitative might not even work affordably or at all on that screen size and resolution, I don't think it makes much sense to criticize it at this point.

Also, a bit harder to answer but I'll ask anyways, can this thing connect to an "ad-hoc" wifi network (i.e. computer-computer), or only an infrastructure wifi network (i.e. computer-router)? I ask because I have an app that turns my phone's 3G connection into a wireless hotspot, but it only does ad-hoc mode wifi. My old Archos 605 can't connect to that.

So I guess my question would be: Do you think it would be realistic to replace an iPod Classic with one of these? I believe he uses his mostly in his car. He's not into the whole emo walk-around-with-your-iPod thing.
