Question about
I for one would love to see the Nexus S appear on AT&T soon. What do you think is taking so long for the device to show up on the carrier?
I know you can use the current device for Tmobile, but with a degraded service. I am only asking for opinions on an AT&T specific handset.
The Nexus S will never appear on AT&T. The carrier simply isn't open to this type of thing. If you can recall, the Nexus One was never "on" AT&T. Google sold an unlocked version with AT&T 3G bands but it certainly was not an AT&T device.
The Nexus S was announced at a time where the phone itself was already very old and served the main purpose of being the new flagship for Android 2.3. No doubt the Nexus S is still a very good phone due to its Galaxy S specs and stock version of the latest Android OS but carriers can't really advertise that as much as "dual core" and all these other meaning-less terms. The new focus is likely getting 2.3 on the devices coming out with 2.2.
In conclusion, the Nexus S is past its time for another launch. For reference, the AT&T band Nexus One came out in March while the original T-Mobile launch was in January. The Nexus S was released in December.
