The rumors are that the Google Nexus Prime is coming to AT&T this fall, with LTE, an HD 720p display, a dual core processor and, the latest and greatest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich.
So I'd say wait until that's out.
If you can't wait the Atrix 4G has great specs and has been upgraded to Gingerbread or the Nexus S which is stock and will be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich sooner, along with Netflix and support for just about every other app.

The Samsung Galaxy S II should be arriving on U.S. carriers sometime at the end of this month. If you don't want to wait for the third iteration of the Nexus - like the others have suggested - this is going to be one of the best phones you can get. If you're itching for something now, as both peterto and Dpmt said - the Nexus S is a great choice.

If you can wait, I'd say wait until Google announces their next Nexus device, but if you can't I'd check out the Nexus S, as it's stock Android. I believe the only seller in the US that's selling AT&T capable 3G banded Nexus S phones is Best Buy.

Just announced is that Samsung Galaxy S II will be available on AT&T Oct 2 for $199 with new contract.
From everything I'd read, it is the android phone to have!
