[HTC Eris] - so who has rooted to 2.1? What was the process like and have you had any issues with it?

I'm getting sick of waiting for the official release and kind of want to get 2.1 because it's supposedly much quicker.

Hi Frank,
I'm running 2.1 on my Eris and it was pretty much pain free. I followed a link on YouTube and it was pretty informative. I really like the Google Navigator application with turn by turn directions you receive through the update - this was worth the install alone. The app store is better with 2.1 too. The waiting for Verizon to send out the OTA update is ridiculous.
