Question about
How well does AirPlay mirroring work from the iPhone 4S to Apple TV 2?
Thanks to the A5 processor in the new iPhone 4S, it can mirror its display to an Apple TV 2. Have you tried this yet? Think it will be useful?

I went by an Apple store just to check out all the hype today and some employees were demonstrating the functionality in store. It actually looked really awesome. I never liked how (even with the iPad 2) it didn't take up the whole screen, but that's a result of the device's resolution, nothing that can really be done about that.

amazingly useful. Played carcassonne on the tv with 5 people and pass & play... with music playing through the sound system as well.
It's basically perfect... tiny noticeable but consistent latency. It's the next level past remote/standard airplay.
before with airplay mirroring, I found people confusing connecting to Atv, and connecting directly to my macbook and pushing it to ATV. with airplay mirroring, this issue is resolved.

Dunno about my 4S, (still waiting for mine to be delivered by sucky Brooklyn UPS) but it works a dream on my IPad 2 running IOS 5.. And when I played embedded videos from safari or skyfire browsers, it scaled to fit the 16:9 ratio of my HDTV, when I choose full screen on the webpage, which was nice (don't remember it doing that on wired mirroring).
And with multiple finger gestures for iPad 2, and undocking the keyboard left and right, I am zipping in an out of the task bar and to and from apps and webpages.
It's snappy, and fun, it's gonna be great for sharing content with family and friends .. And my son is gonna freak out when we fire up FaceTime or Skype on the big tv !

I tried it with my ipad2 yesterday and the real racing game. It was kind of blurry and some latency. Just using the ipad was great though. Ill try again later tonight or this weekend.
