Question about
How to open the enclosure?
Does anyone have any idea how to open the enclosure on this thing?
This is an old thread--should I reply?
Anyway, it appears to be a simple task. There are two rounded square stickers that says "Warranty void if labeled removed--warning." Behind these are the screws that hold the whole thing together.
Hope that helps. And hooray voiding warranties.

Hey thanks for replying. I just got it recently on Black Friday. It looks fancy with the bamboo, hopefully it will dissipate heat as well as metallic enclosures.

uhmm, I had this once, sister dropped it and it's not working anymore, I can see two screws to open at the back and then the part with the funky folded aluminum vents are, those slide forward... though being that my sister broke it, I heard she just opened it by using a hammer...
Now, I'm just using the case itself as a working mini desk since it is a pretty case. I forgot what hard drive was actually inside but it wasn't Simpletech...

@fourblades: It's most likely a Hitachi; they bought Simpletech some time ago.
It being a desktop hard drive, it won't take the falls kindly. You will probably still be able to use the enclosure with other hard drives, though. It does look nice.
@Mithinco: You're welcome. Bamboo is not known for dissipating heat... but the aluminum sidings are basically four pieces of heatsinks.
