How's the keyboard and trackpad?

Every review I've read says that the keyboard is hard to type on and the trackpad makes the cursor jump around. What has your experience been?

I can confirm that the keyboard is not up to par. The touch-pad is quite all right when running linux on it, so that indicates that there are still some driver-issues regarding it's behaviour. I find it a bit too sensitive. It helps to disable the "touch-to-drag" (or whatever it's called) option in windows.

The problem with the keyboard is that you have to press the middle of some of the keys for the key-stroke to be registered. For instance ctrl and left shift are my most troublesome keys. As long as you are aware of the problem it's not too bad, but I guess I'm 10-20% slower while typing on the asus ux31e than on my 4 years old HP laptop.

Yeah, it is exactly that. I have had chance to type with it in stores with peace, and for example MacBook Air's keyboard is way much better.
Don't even mention about trackpad, it is really hard to control.
