How easy is it to upgrade the OS
If going to Settings>About and checking for software update doesn't return anything the only other option is to root your phone and install a custom ROM.

Hook it up to iTunes and go from there if your settings won't do it it will ask you to up date your software I suggest you sync your phone first then reset it to factory settings then iTunes will ask you if you want to up grade click ok then synch the phone again mind you you must be running the new iTunes version
