My question is how they get such freakishly good battery life. Think about it, it's constantly monitoring movement in a fairly sophisticated way, it's very frequently checking for its base station, and it's tiny! I know that pedometers typically sip data (I had one that needed a new lithium battery only every couple months), but I'm still impressed by how long the battery in this thing lasts, and how quick it is to recharge.

There is a small base station that plugs in via USB, for charging, and if you are within in range, it wirelessly sync data from the fitbit
