How do I get rid of a Bootcamp partition on my iMac?

New to Mac. Bought 27' iMac and installed parallels first, then bootcamp. Bootcamp would not let me choose any of the drives...they are all grayed out...something about NTFS. I assumed it wasn't installed. I figured at least I had parallels, but now I see that Bootcamp created the partition (1/2 GB) and it isn't even installed. How would I install it or get rid of the wasted partition on my HD? I guess I was supposed to install Bootcamp first. I really don't want to reformat and start over. I have installed a lot of programs and don't want to go thru the process again. PLEASE HELP!!!

From what I remember, this is pretty easy to do. You simply have to use Disk Utility to remove the offending partition from your drive.

Steps:
1. Open up 'Disk Utility'
2. Click on the Boot Camp / Windows parition
3. Click delete.
4. I believe it should automatically readjust the size of the OS X partition, though I forget. You may have to manually readjust the size of your OS X partition to reclaim the free space.
5. Click apply. That's it! You shouldn't even have to reboot and all your data should be intact.

I've seen other websites suggest that you simply open up the Boot Camp Assistant app, click on "create or remove a Windows partition" and follow along from there. That might be the easiest bet!

Normally, you go through the BootCamp setup process and that guides you through partitioning and installing the secondary OS. I think you did it a little backwards, but fear not!

Here's a quick guide to deleting a partition if you already have Bootcamp installed and it recognizes the partition: www.simplehelp.net/2009/01/26/how-to-delete-a-boot...

Now, if you just want to delete a partition that's standalone, here's how: macs.about.com/od/applications/ss/diskutilitysize_...

Good luck!
