Question about
Hi, i'm wondering if somebody could help me with a project from scratch, i have the basic idea but I don't know what i need to buy, that's what I…
need YOUR help with
Project: In our new there will be 3 rooms on the 3rd(top) floor, one big room with sofas and tv/projector where you can hang out and two slighly smaller rooms. I'm gonna live in one of the smaller rooms but I'm also responsible for the big room. SO...what I want to be able to do is:
I'm gonna have a desktop-computer with (probably) a 20"-something screen in my own room. I wanna have speakers in my own room connected to that computer. In the big room I'm gonna have either a +50" flatscreen-tv of some sort or a HD-projector. I want speakers in the big room aswell, connected to the tv;
I'm also (probably) gonna have either a Xbox 360 slim or Ps3(maybe both) in the big room.
Now the tricky part: i wanna be able to watch content from my computer(mostly movies) on the big tv/projector in the big room(in best quality possible). I want to be able to listen to music from my computer OR my iPod touch on either only the speakers in my room or on the speakers in BOTH of the rooms.
So everything I want to be able to do:
Use my computer just like normal in my own room
Listen to music from my computer on the speakers in my own room
Listen to music from my computer on the speakers in both rooms
Listen to music from my iPod touch on the speakers in my own room
Listen to music from iPod touch on the speakers in both rooms
Watch content from my computer in the big room
Play videogames in the big room
I haven't bought anything at all yet so there are actually only this guideline I'd like you to follow if possible:
(almost)Always as cheap as possible(but if possible, wireless)
(probably) Nobody has time to look up ALL of the things, but maybe you know ONE part of the solution?
(P.S - If you help me with this, anything in this project, but your curious on jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch I'll be glad to help with all kinds of tips and tricks :D)

Perhaps I'm stating the obvious, but if you hire a systems integrator you won't waste time and your "system" will work. There are several organizations that can help you namely the NSCA, BICSI or CEDIA. First you need a budget and then I'd seriously look at the input/outputs of the equipment you'd think you'd like... There is also the networking of the equipment to consider, (as well as speed issues...). HDMI cables are preferred, but Cat 5e, and Cat 6 cables can function perfectly well. You may want to check out BlackBox or Gefen as they make various converters.
Lastly you don't say where you are.... if your in the SF Bay Area I'd be tempted to help, but what's critical is the definition of the parameters involved. You seldom get "cheap" coupled with best possible installation, coupled with speed and/or retrofitting. Yes, there is wireless solutions, there are also PLC or Power Line Communications which would allow you to network using your electrical system, but there are limitations. Anyway, good luck with your project.

Are you against an Apple eco-system? An Apple TV should do the trick. You can use your iPod touch as a remote with airplay to control he whole system.

Looks like you need:
- A receiver that supports multiple audio zones, auxiliary inputs, and an iPod dock
- A PS3 for streaming video to the living room and playing games

Tips for giving the best answers
Sometimes it's just little details that separates a great and not so great answer! Here are a few simple tips to keep in mind:
- 1
- Be complete and thorough. Don't skimp on the details!
- 2
- Try not to answer with a question. Because that's not really an answer, right?
- 3
- A little research goes a long way. Back up your claims and assumptions!
- 4
- Try to be patient, tech questions can be complicated.
