Question about
Hey all
Just wondering if others in my position have done any similar research and hit upon a magical device.
We're an IT company and want a few laptops for engineers. They'd want to be thin & light to ensure good portability, but not entirely netbook-like in terms of spec - after all, nobody wants to work with a celeron (or most ULVs). One other main requirement is the presence of a TPM chip so that we can BitLocker them. I'm thinking something somewhere between a Thinkpad X100E and a Dell Latitude E4200. Price-wise closer to the X100E, of course :-).
Any suggestions?

Those laptops you mentioned are semi-dated and there are laptops out now that are much improved.
I'd recommend checking out these two laptops:
- Lenovo Thinkpad X120e (gdgt.com/lenovo/thinkpad/x120e/)
- HP Pavilion dm1z (gdgt.com/hp/pavilion/dm1z/)
These both have a new AMD processor that's a lot better than the Atom processors that you'll find in netbooks. I like Thinkpads because they always seemed to have the better build quality of the PC laptops out there, but I believe the HP is a bit cheaper.

Tips for giving the best answers
Sometimes it's just little details that separates a great and not so great answer! Here are a few simple tips to keep in mind:
- 1
- Be complete and thorough. Don't skimp on the details!
- 2
- Try not to answer with a question. Because that's not really an answer, right?
- 3
- A little research goes a long way. Back up your claims and assumptions!
- 4
- Try to be patient, tech questions can be complicated.
- 5
- You are awesome for both reading this and answering questions.
