Question about
Help! My Magic Mouse no longer recognizes scrolling?
Forget "natural scrolling," my Magic Mouse no longer recognizes any sort of scrolling in OS X Lion. What's going on? I've rebooted my computer, changed batteries in the mouse, turned things off and on.
No matter what I do, I can no longer scroll using my Magic Mouse. It's a little disconcerting (considering every mouse I've had the last 10years or so has had a scroll wheel at this point)!

I finally figured out how to fix this! Turns out, it's a problem with having USB Overdrive installed. After removing USB Overdrive via its own uninstaller (it should be located in the same folder that USB Overdrive is installed in) and then rebooting my machine, my machine recognized scrolling with a Magic Mouse again. Huzzah!

I had this happen on an iMac that was upgraded from snow leopard to lion. Not only would the scroll function no longer work, but the right click was not being recognized anymore either.
In my case restarting the machine did not fix the problem either. I did (at least so far) fix the issue by removing all bluetooth devices and adding them back. This problem started last tuesday (approximately) and so far has not returned since removal and re-add.
Good Luck,

Paired any new bluetooth devices today?
Any changes to your user Login Items?
I Can't think of which one, at the moment, but there are a couple utilities like (maybe) BetterTouchTool that show you an active real time image of where you're touching on the mouse. You could verify the mouse sensor stuff is working.
Log in as Guest, or a different user to check. Also, remove or rearrange items in the Login Items. Perhaps one of those programs had a recent update and it's causing the problem.
Just some troubleshooting thoughts.
