Question about
HELP! It won't boot...
So I've got this ThinkPad X23 but I cannot get it to boot. It will get to the XP boot screen then flash a BSoD for a millisecond then crash out of that and start the cycle all over again.
I tried to boot off of a USB drive and that would fail as well. Any thoughts?

So this happens even if you use, say, an Ubuntu LiveCD?

Hmm, try re-flashing the firmware? Or you can always try getting a computer made in the last 8 years, too.

Sounds like something wrong with XP, corrupted boot or something. Your best bet is to re-install XP or some other OS, maybe try a live Ubuntu CD like acaurora mentioned.
The XP repair utility MIGHT fix it, but I don't think that it's very likely.

I'll second Ryan here and try something like reflashing the firmware. There's usually a way to clear the CMOS but I don't know how that works with laptops, only with desktops.
