Hello gdgt community. I am about to start the development of feedly for windows phone 7.

To do so, I need to buy a good windows laptop and most important the best windows phone 7 hardware. Best being defined by quality and precision of the screen when tracking touch events, best GPU (I have heard that one of the differences of WP7 vs Android is that like the iPhone, WP7 has GPU). Does anyone have suggestions? (I found the Microsoft Window Phone 7 page, but I have not idea which of the 5 phone they are offering is the best). Thank you!

I'd go with the HTC HD7.

IIRC all windows phone 7 hardware has the same guts. Namely a Qualcomm QSD8250 with an Adreno 200 GPU, this is the exact same as the EVO 4G and Nexus One except that the former uses the 8650 due to needing CDMA support.

Thanks. For Android development, we have an HTC/Sprint 4G phone and a Nexus ONE phone. In both, the touch quality is not very precise and the UI/Transitions are not as fluid as the iOS (even 3GS). Are the WP7 better in those 2 dimensions? Is there any WP7 which has more of an iOS like feel/precision?

I'd suggest buying a device and judging for yourself.

Great, curious to hear how it goes! A lot of people like how polished the UI is in WP7, so it'll be interesting to see how you think it compares with iOS.

Having used the HD7 a couple times, I can say that UI performance and touch tracking are very good. I feel the same way about Android on my Nexus One but I think that both things are just slightly better on the HD7.

The other thing I should say is the phone I see this most, daily due to living commuting distance from Redmond, is the Samsung Focus. The many of Microsoft's employees have that phone now.
