Question about
odysseus

Hello all,

I am due for a new phone and I am in a pickle, I cannot decide between the Droid Incredible and the Blackberry Bold. I use Google services heavily which makes me think the Incredible would be a great option, however; I already own a iPod touch which pretty takes care of the multimedia aspect for me.

To make my decision more difficult I went to a Verizon store and tried out the Droid (the Incredible was not in stock) side by side next to the Bold 9650. I preferred the Bold as a phone and the QWERTY keyboard, the thing that I didn't particularly like was the web-browsing.

My dilemma is that I will have to start paying for data with either of these devices and I feel like I would get more out of it with the Incredible, but I prefer the no-lag feedback and physical keyboard in the Bold. Then again Incredible has an 8 mp camera...

Has anyone had to make a similar decision involving Android and Blackberry? What are you thoughts and which way did you go?

I had a BlackBerry Curve 8330 and went to the Verizon store to check out the new Curve (8530) back in November. I walked out of the store with a Motorola Droid and never looked back. I, too, use mostly Google services, and Android is unmatched for that. It seemed like all the Google services were an afterthought on the BB. I was glad to have the physical keyboard on the Droid, until I started actually using it. I hated the side-out keyboard on the Droid and ended up using the virtual keyboard the majority of the time. I now have the Incredible, and it's way better than the Motorola Droid. I don't even miss the physical keyboard a bit!

My vote is for the Droid Incredible, hands down.

I had a Blackberry Curve 8330M for about 1.5 years, then moved to the Droid Incredible. I can not impress upon you how much better the Incredible is. You can not really compare the Incredible to the first Droid either. The incredible is so smooth it is ridiculous, and web browsing is top-notch. The only downside is that it sometimes takes a little bit to get all your settings right to get the battery to last. I had to disable auto-sync with the HTC Facebook app, for example. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this device.
