Question about
nicuptown

have a little problem was wondering if i could get some help. im trying to decide whether to get an ipad or the newly released ipod touch.

i like the fact that the ipad has a larger screen as this makes it easier to read rss feeds and books etc. which is what i do normally on a daily basis. however seeing as the ipad is six months into its life cycle (im assuming this) then i would be pissed to get it and then have it be obsolete next april. on the other hand the ipod touch has the new high res screen as well as being more portable. plus, its new, which is a very shallow reason to want it but so be it.
i would really love if anyone could help me with this "dilemma" and any comments would be appreciated

Its more about what you want to do with it. If you want a portable music player/video camera then get the iPod Touch, but I wouldn't hold my breath on the Retina Display coming to the iPad anytime soon. They would have to shove the pixel density that is in the 27" iMac into a 9" screen. I really love my iPad for surfing the web, reading ebooks, reading RSS feeds, etc. I also use it to take notes in class and digital comics. They are really two different use cases. Don't worry too much about it being obsolete because I imagine it will handle everything for a long time.

Screen size makes all the difference and your iPod may also seems obsolete when the iPhone 5 come in June.

If you need to take your device everywhere, an iPod is more portable, but the iPad is a better device for many usages, especially reading books or magazines.

I have an iMac, iPhone and iPad and the iPad is now the device I use the most.

But don't choose the iPod because it is new: it won't last long before it is old.

As an iPad owner, I recommend getting the new iPod now unless you are willing to wait for the next iPad revision. The next one is bound to have a camera for Facetime, more RAM, and possibly a sharper screen.

I would just wait for the next iPad if I were in your position.
