On T-Mobile you'll get EDGE network connectivity, which is not only 2g, they throttle it to about 100kbps in order to encourage people to get 3g/4g packages. (Which you won't be able to use with it anyway, because it doesn't include the AWS 1700 frequency.) The question you need to ask yourself if you get the Note is if you'll be in range of wifi all the time, because if not, T-Mobile's 3g/4g is incompatible with AT&T and is often incompatible with European 3g devices as well.
