Has anyone used the eye-fi cards as a way to easily get photos to an iPad/iPhone?

They are a bit more pricey than an average SD card, but I thought it would be an easy way to get photos moved to an iPad/iPhone without having to purchase the camera connection kit. Has anyone used these cards before? Are they worth it?

I purchased one with the same intent but honestly I personally find the iPad Camera Connection kit a lot more convenient.

The process works as follows:
Go into Settings and change to the WiFi network that the Eye-Fi card creates and connect
Start the Eye-Fi app
Wait for photos to transfer
Go back to Settings and change back to whatever WiFi network you were using before.

You also need to configure the card from a PC or Mac, so if you want to change from "Ad hoc" mode which is used above to the normal WiFi client mode (where it uploads to a cloud service/your PC) you need to go back to a computer and make the change.

So, while it works as advertised, taking a card out and putting it in the Apple Camera Connection kit is a lot faster.

the best settings for this if there is no known wifi networks in the immediate area where you effecting the transfer from eyefi to iOS. else you'd need to manually connect to the hotspot generated by the eyefi card.

else, it works a peach and is a very convenient way to sync to iOS for a quick edit using any of the photoedit apps available on the app store.

I use a canon s95 and instagram pics looks much better than using the iphone camera.
